Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide analogue of the endogenous immunomodulatory tetrapeptide tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg), with the addition of a Pro-Gly-Pro C-terminal sequence to enhance metabolic stability and extend biological activity. Developed alongside Semax at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Selank has been extensively studied in preclinical research across immunological and neurological research disciplines.
